How To Grow In Faith

There is a couple ways to truly grow in faith. I would like to share them with you my first point of growing in faith is:

●Hearing the gospel
1. Church is the perfect place to hear the gospel. The more you take in the more you put out. What you digest in words and sight, should be things that will draw you closer to God. Hearing about Christ will help you grow in understanding Him.

2. Reading the bible is the gospel. From Old to New Testament you hear about Christ. The Old Testament is full of foreshadows of Christ. I'll give you an example:
In the Old Testament people would kill live animals and pour the blood of the animal over an altar as a sacrifice for God. The animal was innocent and had no fault in being killed but it took the place of humans needing to die because of their sinful ways. God is very serious about sin. You can find some of the animal sacrifices in the book of Numbers.
The New Testament speaks of the death of Christ and His blood shedding for us even though He was innocent. That was a foreshadowing of Christ in the Old Testament to the New. Try Googling some foreshadowing of the Old and New Testament. Comment what you find to help someone else. Here's another way to grow in faith.

3. God has called forth many influencers to teach, preach and spread the gospel. Here is a couple channels you can follow that has blessed me:
- Heather Lindsay
-Joshua Eze
- Greater Grace Worship Center
- iambcuzofu
-SaneeshaF SaneeshaF (yes my channel of course lol)
-R C Blake's Jr.

I am highly sure if you follow any of these channels you'll be lead to even more videos. Hearing the gospel grows your faith. Church is 2 days a week. During the middle of your church visits, commit to 20 minutes of watching any video on one of the channels I listed above for the next 30 days and see how your faith in Christ grows. Another way to grow in your faith is:

●Believing in the Gospel
Decide that Christ's death is enough. We turn to so many other avenues to get freedom only to find ourselves still bondage to thoughts, actions and the behaviors of others.
No matter the thoughts and actions of you or others, what you have encountered is too much for God to cancel you. No matter what you have been through, Christ still counted you worthy. I used last tense because Christ has already died. It's just up to you to accept and believe in Him.
Haven't spoken in tongues yet? But you are seeking? You're worthy.
Not a virgin? You're worthy.
Single parent? You're worthy
Had abortions? You're worthy.
Done drugs? You're worthy
Been to prison for what ever reason? You are worthy.
Feel ashamed of your past? You are worthy.
Left the church for a long period of time? You're worthy.
Believing in the gospel is a decision. It also an act. Which takes me to my next point.

●Living continuously in the gospel is an act that will grow your faith.
What is the gospel? There are 4 major acts that involve the gospel and it is up to you to decide what you will choose.
Number 1 - Believe in your heart that Christ died for your sins (confession is necessary, your tongue and what you speak is what's going to heal you and free you to truly walk in the freedom of faith in Christ. )
Number 2 - Repent (repent daily. Do an entire 180. Even when you mess up, get back in line.) Repentance is deeper than an apology. It is a decision to change and not keep doing the same things you have always done that separates you from God through disobedience. In your process of growth there will be set backs. You can grow in 20 steps within a time frame. And on the 21st step you slip and make a decision that sets you back to 15 steps. But guess what? You still have growth to work with. Because you are still 15 steps further than you were. You can take 20 more steps and be at 35 steps and make a mistake and fall back 6 steps. Now you are at 29 steps. But guess what? You are 29 steps further than you ever were and 14 steps further than your last mistake. You have to be gracious and merciful with yourself on your faith journey.
The bible says we grow from faith to faith (Romans 1:17). Repentance is a continuous thing. There's one act that you do one time and it is relevant for the rest of your life. But for me, I did it twice. At the age of 12 I was baptized but once I became an adult and was fully aware of my decisions, I got baptized again. Which is my next point.

3.Be baptized with water which is an act of faith and a portion of the gospel that you can do to display your faith in God.
Water baptism is a full body submerge, where you are quickly taken back up out of water. It symbolizes your belief. You are going down with Christ as He was buried. And you are coming up out of the water as He rose from the dead. It is an act of faith to live the gospel. It displays the washing away of your sins and this is also showing God that you are aware that you are imperfect and in need to be perfected by Christ. There is another baptism that follows which is to be:

4. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
The tongue is hard thing to tame. It is an unruly evil. Read James chapter 3. I want you to focus on chapter 3 verse 3. It says, we put bits in a horses mouth. You can reference the rope that ties around the horses mouth. We use that to guide the horse. With the guide of the horses mouth, the body follows and is steered in the direction that it needs (not should) but it needs or is directed to go.
When we are filled with Holy Spirit, there is a supernatural encounter that takes place. We are changed. We speak with new tongues. When the Holy Spirit first revealed itself to the world. It entered a room of people who were believers of God and inspired others to began to speak with new tongues as they worshiped Him. This new tongue is not learned. It will show up when you seek it, and it will come at the right time. The Holy Spirit showed up for the people in the bible in the book of Acts chapter 2. It did the same for me in 2013. I now speak in tongues often. It is an act of faith by knowing that I am connecting with God and not knowing what I am saying. My understanding of what I am saying is not there, but I have full understanding of why I speak in an unknown tongue. Our tongue is vital instrument for spiritual warfare. If God can tame our mouth just as the horses body followed. So will our body follow when we display and are intentional about growing in faith. The bible says after the Holy Ghost is come upon us, we shall have power. This power helps us stay faithful to the things of God. This is a promise from God to you. A promise will never be broken, but it can be never recieved by many people because they are too prideful to ask God. Or they spend large amounts of time, justifying why they dont have to speak in tongues. It's necessary. Dont weary yourself as to when will you receive the language or why you haven't, just operate in faith and create room to have the opportunity. I will create another blog post on tips on how to receive the Holy Spirit and my experience and journey trying to receive it.

When you seek Him. It must be done by faith, and your faith will grow continuously as you seek it out and WHEN you receive it, keep speaking over your life in your heavenly language. This is a gift to have. It's a comforter. Be comforted knowing that a promise is always a YES with God. Read this -Acts 2:39. This is what it says about recieving the Holy Ghost.
If you want to grow in faith.
Seek the unknown language of God.
You may want to make sense out of why you haven't done it yet. It's ok, you're not counted out. You just have to remember that faith is the substance of things hoped for, it is the evidence of things not seen ( Hebrews 11:1)
Just because you dont see it yet, doesn't mean God hasn't given it to you already. So walk with your head high, boldness and gladness knowing that this is your promise.
Remember your tongue is what is going to give you freedom to walk in faith. So decree over your life, that you will grow in faith, repent of your sins, act on the things of faith by being baptized and seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Seek the Holy Spirit, speak the Holy Spirit over your life and know you will speak with new tongues. It starts now, speaking with new tongues is deeper than an unknown language. It is speaking new things over your life. Saying things like I am saved. I am healed. I am set free. Learning scriptures and speaking them over your life is your praying the Promises of God over your life which are always YES.

When you began to the things manifest in your life that was once not there. You will grow in faith to believe what seems to.be the impossible. If you have not done or experienced the things in this post. Began to do more and increase in faith.

I pray you are encouraged and I pray by faith that you will apply every word of this blog into your life. Growing in faith is your portion. Thanks for reading.
Be blessed.

Romans 1:16-17 KJV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; ...
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
